While weeds are prevented from growing underneath your artificial lawn through a combination of layered aggregate and weed barrier membrane, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on plant litter or debris that’s up on the surface and give it all a good sweep every now and again. If these bits of plant are allowed to settle and they meet with moisture, they can grow into weeds. However, these are likely to be weak as they cannot embed themselves in any soil. So if they do grow, you should be able to easily lift them out and remove them. Regular cleaning can help prevent this.

First off, we need to remove the existing turf to a depth of approximately 70mm depending on ground conditions. All waste disposal included.
A stabilisation membrane is then installed acting as a separator between aggregates and soil layers. This is followed by the installation of edging around the entire perimeter of the area to support the sub-base materials.
The sub-base infill consists of a primary layer of type 1 limestone to a depth of around 50-60mm. It will then be levelled and compacted using a wacker plate, providing a strong and stable surface which allows for optimal drainage.
The final layer consists of grano dust which is installed to a depth of 15-25mm. It is then levelled, compacted with a wacker plate and smoothed off. This specialist material binds extremely well providing a strong and smooth finish to your sub-base.
The last touch before we install your artificial grass is covering the sub-base with a durable membrane, which will stop weeds from taking root in your new garden.
It is essential that the grass is rolled out and positioned the correct way to achieve the best appearance. All rolls are perfectly joined together with a specialist adhesive and once trimmed to size, we will then secure the artificial grass to the edging around the perimeter of the garden. Finally, our team use a specialist power brush to lift the pile and will always ensure to leave your brand new lawn looking great!
